Special Events
Purpose: To provide A.A. centered events to the A.A. community in order to provide a safe, recovery centered outlet for entertainment particularly on holidays that are typically “difficult” for newly sober alcoholics. All events have at least one A.A. speaker.
Activities Include: Helping with the organization of events, (purchasing food/supplies, selecting speakers, chairing meetings, setting up/cleaning up, finding event locations, etc. Current events include the 4th of July Picnic, Lincoln A.A. Christmas Party, and the New Year’s Eve Alcathon.
Who Can Help: Any A.A. member is welcome to participate.
Special Events Committee meetings are held the third Sunday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at The Hi-Way Diner, 2100 Hwy 2, Lincoln, Nebraska.
