The 4th of July picnic was nearly self-supporting (w\/in $10!), balance is $1985.52.<\/p>\n<p>GSR Reports:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Pocket of Enthusiasm (Steve U.): not present<\/li>\n<li>Seeking Solutions (Jon R.): Things are going well, Old Timer\u2019s forum was a couple weeks ago. Great attendance at the forum (over 100!), regular attendance about 70.<\/li>\n<li>Spiritual Actions (Emily S.): Everything is going alright.<\/li>\n<li>Sufficient Substitute (Sam R.): Still need an alt. GSR. Attendance fluctuating.<\/li>\n<li>Women\u2019s Circle of Friends (alt. Rhonda R.): not present.<\/li>\n<li>Cafeteria Group (Tom B.):Tom is at a graduation party.<\/li>\n<li>Practical Applications (Brian D.): Changed from an open to closed meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Looking at changing the meeting name. Love the new location (Grace Chapel at 40th and Sheridan).<\/li>\n<li>Young People\u2019s (Virginia M., alt.): Attendance fluctuates, common to have big attendance but low 7th tradition. Miles M. is new intergroup rep. Still trying to find a bank.<\/li>\n<li>Wed. noon at R.O.C.C. (Toni A.): not present.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>DCM Report (Amy Z.):<\/p>\n<p>1. Amy went to the Delegate\u2019s Report event on Saturday, August 14th. The only GSR that came from our district was Sam R. It was very informative. Amy read through her notes from the report. An official report will be available next month via GSO.<\/p>\n<p>District 21 Business<br \/>\nOld business:<\/p>\n<p>1. District 21 Fall Workshop-<br \/>\n\u2022 Workshop will be held October 9th at 1pm, at R.O.C.C. It will cost $50.00 for rent. The theme of the workshop will be: \u201cContinuing to grow in AA\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The subtopics and potential speakers are listed below:<\/p>\n<p>Step 1 (John M.)<br \/>\nHonest, Open mind, willingness (Carol W.)<br \/>\nAccepting life on life\u2019s terms (Jennifer R.)<br \/>\nImproving our conscience contact with God (Otto S.)<br \/>\nPrinciples before personalities (Greg W.)<\/p>\n<p>We will ask Jennifer R. to speak on \u201cAccepting Life on Life\u2019s Terms\u201d, if she can\u2019t, Pat D. will.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 We discussed food. We will ask our groups to help with this and will discuss this at the September business meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Amy has made a flier. One change will be \u201cCarol W.\u201d should be \u201cCarole\u201d W.\u201dAmy will change this, and will update the flier when we find out for sure who the 5th speaker will be, and will email everyone the flier.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Transportation for people in treatment centers. If needed, Brian D. and Jon R. may be called on for transport, and Emily or Pat may also be called as a back-up plan. Let Amy know if you are willing to transport to this event.<\/p>\n<p>2. Delegates Report: Leon gave his report August 14th at 1 pm at 24th and Sewell. A $50 check was written out to District 22 for the event and this will be passed on to Chad O., District 22 DCM.<\/p>\n<p>3. District boundaries. Nothing new again. Amy will work on this for the September district meeting.<\/p>\n<p>4. Voting items for upcoming Sept. 11-12th Area Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Agenda item #005:<\/p>\n<p>Discussion-<br \/>\n\u201cWhy not hire a professional instead? Problems with how they are going about it. Has anyone discussed this with District 31?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat was said at Area, was that the district\u2019s responsibility to find a translator, a professional. District 31 has been talked to about this, they are the ones that brought it to Report &amp; Charter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf district 31 is paying for the translator, why should the Area pay for the hotel\/mileage?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hotel\/mileage would be too big of a burden on the district, so it would be helpful if the Area could uptake some of the cost.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vote:<br \/>\nIn favor-0<br \/>\nOpposed-4<\/p>\n<p>District 21 Failed Voting item #005.<\/p>\n<p>Voting item: #008<\/p>\n<p>Discussion<br \/>\nSome discussion on how many officers were approved to go to the West Central Regional Forum. It changed in the past.<\/p>\n<p>In favor- 3<br \/>\nOpposed-1<\/p>\n<p>No minority voice<\/p>\n<p>District 21 Passed Voting item #008.<\/p>\n<p>New business:<\/p>\n<p>1. Grapevine Survey. Have as many AA members fill this out as possible and return to Area Delegate, Leon A. The survey will be available online (area41.org) after August 20th, 2010. Contact Amy W. if you need hardcopies.<\/p>\n<p>2.
