The Special Events Committee brings the Lincoln A.A. community together through fellowship, fun, and A.A.-centered events.

Special attention is given to holidays that can be difficult for people in early sobriety, providing welcoming opportunities to celebrate and connect with others in recovery. Events include an A.A. speaker or meeting as part of the program.

What We Do

Committee members help plan and carry out Lincoln Intergroup events, including:

  • Finding and coordinating event locations
  • Selecting speakers and chairing A.A. meetings
  • Purchasing food and supplies
  • Setting up and cleaning up
  • Helping with other event needs

Current annual events include the Fourth of July Picnic, Lincoln A.A. Christmas Party, and New Year's Eve Alcathon.

Get Involved

Any A.A. member is welcome to participate. Whether you'd like to help plan an event or simply lend a hand with setup, food, or cleanup, there are plenty of ways to be of service.

The Special Events Committee meets:

Third Sunday of each month at 10:30 a.m.
Hi-Way Diner
2100 Highway 2
Lincoln, NE
